The board of commissioners consists of 5 members which are elected by districts and are staggered for a four year term. The commissioners make policies that regulate the functions of all the departments and see to it that they are followed. They are responsible for the county budget, social service administration, county road department and many other county concerns. Commissioners serve on a variety of boards and committees.
